What to do, what to see

​There is a track that leads from the lodges to the forest, which have tracks that are ideal for walking and cycling.
​Not only can you come for the peace and tranquilty in the immediate area, but there are many famous places to visit. Urquhart Castle, the famous and popular castle situated on the shores of Loch Ness. Whilst in Drumnadrochit there are boat trips on the infamous loch, Loch Ness Centre & Exhibition and Nessieland.
Glen Affric, which is said to be the most beautiful in Scotland, is renowned for its scenery and old Caledonian Forest Reserve. This is ideal for walkers and families, as there are short way marked walks and longer day walks with spectacular scenery and waterfalls.
Inverness, the capital of the Highlands a nice and cosy city with many restaurants, museums and two shopping centres.

​​Further afield the West Coast including Plockton, Isle of Skye, Fort William and Ben Nevis and the renowned Inverewe Gardens are all within a days excursion. Aviemore and the Cairngorms are about an hours drive and a bit further afield to the east is whisky country, where many of the well known malts are distilled. There are boat trips on the Moray Firth to see the popular dolphins.

Activities

Golf :There are a number of local golf clubs within a short distance of the lodges. The most immediate are Inverness, Muir of Ord and Aigas. Click here for a list of clubs.
Horse Riding:There are riding stables offering pony/horse trekking at Borlum Farm in Drumnadrochit and also at Tomich (Cougie) Highland Trekking and Trail Riding.
Fishing: Local fishing is possible at a nearby loch (5 min walk) which is full of pike, whilst trout fishing is available slightly further afield. 
Swimming: Swimming is available in Inverness at the Leisure Centre/Aquadome or in Tomich at the Tomich Hotel.
