Lochletter Lodges, self catering accommodation is situated a few miles from Drumnadrochit, and has a variety of cycling opportunities for all types of cyclist, from beginners to extreme cycling.
There are also excellent walking tracks for all abilities. Family Cycling. From the lodges there is a track that joins up with the forestry tracks at the back of the lodges. Glenurquhart forest has a number of tracks that stretch from the top of the glen at Shenval to Drumnadrochit. Abriachan Forest is a 20 minute drive, and has a varied selection of mountain bike tracks. There are also a number of other forestry commission woods in the area with suitable cycling for the family. |
The Great Glen Way (for the more experience mountain bikers).
The Great Glen route is a 80 miles long track, which and goes from Fort William to Inverness, passing through Invergarry, Fort Augustus and Drumnadrochit. The way is orginal for walking, but it can be cycled, however there are some steep climbs, which are to steep to cycle (approx. 1 mile in total).
